The Biedrusko Military Training Ground is located to the north of the city of Poznań. It was here that on October 18, 2023, another set of nature workshops took place as part of the LIFE project.
On October 3, 2023, in Krakow, the INF ARMY team co-organized a conference with Eurosite - the European Land Conservation Network.
The central theme of the conference was remote sensing and its potential applications in environmental conservation. The event featured guest speakers from the United Kingdom, representatives from the military, and the LIFE Manager.
On October 2, 2023, a monitoring visit by a representative from the European Commission took place, as part of the periodic reporting process. The Monitor had the opportunity to assess the progress of individual tasks in relation to the project schedule. Plans for the coming months and any potential challenges that may arise during the next phases of the project were also discussed.
On September 26, 2023, the INF ARMY team participated in an ecological fair organized by the Landscape Parks Team of the Silesian Voivodeship. This was an opportunity to set up an educational and promotional booth at the Educational and Scientific Center of the Landscape Parks Team in Smoleń.
Trzebiatów Coast, designated as the Natura 2000 area PLB320010, was another location on the country's map where INF ARMY held nature workshops. This time, the participants included not only personnel from the Ministry of National Defense (RON) and environmental officials but also two classes of students from the Zbigniew Herbert School in Trzebiatów, with a biological and military profile. We are delighted with their participation.
On September 14, 2023, a nature workshop took place in the Natura 2000 Special Protection Area PLB020005 Bory Dolnośląskie, in which 43 participants took part. This area is the largest national habitat for two owl species: the boreal owl (Aegolius funereus) and the Eurasian pygmy owl (Glaucidium passerinum). Furthermore, until recently, there was a strong population of black grouse (Tetrao tetrix) across the extensive areas of the local military training grounds.
Natural Workshop No. 5 took place on September 12, 2023, in the military part of the Natura 2000 PLH080008 Buczyny Ługowsko-Sulęcińskie area. This area represents the best-preserved fragment of the glacial landscape of the Lubusz Lakeland, characterized by rich glacial topography and significant changes in elevation. The area was primarily established to preserve old, well-developed beech forests (140-150 years old) within a naturally functioning ecosystem.
In the June issue of the AURA monthly magazine, an article featuring the INF ARMY project titled "The Military Fights for Nature" was published (AURA No. 6).

The Orzysz Training Area Refuge, a site classified as a Special Protection Area for Birds (Birds Directive), was the next point on the schedule for organizing workshops as part of the INF ARMY project.
On June 27, 2023, the next nature workshop was held as part of the INF ARMY project. The meeting place was the Central Air Force Training Area in Wicko Morskie. The area includes the Natura 2000 site PLH320068 Lake Wicko and Modelskie Dunes.
